CLEAVERS are a punishingly loud melodic punk band from the Scottish Highlands.

In their short existence they’ve taken their no-nonsense live show all over the UK from basements to festival stages, caused stage invasions in Scandanavia, destroyed eardrums in mainland Europe and have been seen to attempt guitar solos with zimmer frames/flowers/cakes/fireworks.

Their fierce D.I.Y. ethic and a strong drive has led them to self release three vinyl records, 2 cassette tapes, music videos, stickers, zines and a ridiculous amount of t-shirts with gnarly designs that have been sighted globally.

Their track Speak! Speak! was song of the month in The Scotsman newspaper, they’ve been tipped as one of BBC Radio Scotland’s Top 35 Scottish Artists to watch in 2012, were recently nominated for a Scottish Alternative Music Award and have received high praise from media figures such as BBC’s Ally McCrae and Vic Galloway.

And there’s the music of course; It’s noisy, brash and fast as hell but there are melodies and choruses all over the place…. a bit like Motorhead covering Phil Spector one could say.

CLEAVERS are here, you’ve been warned.

It’s archaic, it’s unhinged, it’s at times all over the place, it’s raw and feral and it’s bloody brilliant.
